Ms. Sheikh Shuchita Jahan Sneha, Coordinator, Responsible Business Hub (RBH), BGMEA, participated as a panelist in the discussion “Strengthening Bangladesh’s RMG Ecosystem through Local Expertise: Opportunities for Consultancy-Led Growth, Green Transition, and Innovation”, organized by the Swisscontact PROGRESS Project and SEBA under the event “Towards a Sustainable Green Transition: Empowering Local Technical Consultancy Providers (LTCPs) and Strengthening Factory Readiness in Bangladesh’s RMG Sector.”
The event brought together Bangladeshi local consulting firms, factory management, and key stakeholders to explore how local expertise can accelerate sustainability and strengthen the competitiveness of Bangladesh’s RMG industry. Under the PROGRESS Project and SEBA, local technical consultancy providers received training on GRI Standards-based sustainability reporting, strengthening their capacity to support factories in transparent and internationally aligned sustainability disclosures. The trianings were provided by SusNex Ltd.
During the discussion, Ms. Sneha highlighted the BGMEA Responsible Business Hub’s commitment to promoting industry-wide sustainability reporting as a means of communicating Bangladesh’s sustainability progress to the global market. Credible, transparent, and internationally aligned reporting will be instrumental in reinforcing Bangladesh’s position as a trusted and responsible sourcing hub, while supporting the industry’s long-term green transition.
