BGMEA Signs MoUs with Four Renowned Hospitals to Expand Special Healthcare Facilities

On December 09, 2025, as part of its ongoing initiative to ensure enhanced healthcare services for its members, officers, employees, and their families, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with four more renowned hospitals. With this, the scope of BGMEA’s special healthcare facilities has further expanded.

Today (Tuesday), the signing ceremony was held at the BGMEA Conference Room in Uttara. The four hospitals with whom the MoUs were newly signed are: Dhaka Imperial Hospital PLC, Ibn Sina Trust, SHIP International Hospital, and York Hospital Ltd.

On behalf of BGMEA, the MoUs were signed by Acting President Salim Rahman. Representing the institutions, the MoUs were signed by Md. Anisur Rahman, Director of Dhaka Imperial Hospital PLC; GM Tariqul Islam, AGM & Head of Business Development of Ibn Sina Trust; Futoshi Kono, Board Director of SHIP International Hospital; and Nazrul Islam, Director (former BGMEA Director) on behalf of York Hospital Ltd.

As a result of the agreement, BGMEA members and their family members will now be able to receive advanced medical and diagnostic services at special discounted rates from a total of 14 leading healthcare providers (including the previously signed 10 institutions). Through this initiative, BGMEA is encouraging its members to receive world-class healthcare services within the country instead of seeking treatment abroad.

At the event, Acting President Salim Rahman reaffirmed BGMEA’s commitment to the welfare of entrepreneurs and workers in the garment sector.

He stated that BGMEA has undertaken an initiative to establish a large hospital in the Ashulia region for garment workers. One of the key objectives of signing these MoUs is to ensure the valuable support of these partner hospitals in operating the proposed hospital in the future. He further added that through collective efforts, it will be possible to build a sustainable and improved healthcare structure in the garment sector.

The welcome speech was delivered by BGMEA Director Mohammed Sohel, under whose overall supervision the MoUs with the respective hospitals were signed.

Also present at the event were BGMEA Director Md. Hasib Uddin, Chairman of the Press, Publication and Publicity Committee Mohammad Masud Kabir, Chairman of Mirpur Health Care Center Khandaker Mohidur Rahman Shaheen, Chairman of the TB Control and Dengue Committee Nurul Tapon, and Managing Director of York Hospital Ltd. Mallik Nasim Ahsan, along with senior officials of the participating hospitals.

Representatives of the signing institutions stated that they are proud and delighted to stand beside the country’s apparel sector.
