BGMEA Strengthens Ties with French Brand Celio to Boost Sustainable and Innovative Apparel Sourcing from Bangladesh

Renowned French fashion brand celio organized a two-day event for its Bangladeshi suppliers in Paris on October 16 and 17, 2025 to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration and mutual growth.

At Celio’s invitation, BGMEA Directors Nafis-Ud-Doula and Shah Rayeed Chowdhury attended the event and represented the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). Celio’s 20 garment suppliers from Bangladesh participated in the event.

The discussions focused on strengthening the partnership between Celio and its Bangladeshi suppliers, innovation, sustainability, and future sourcing opportunities.

In their speeches, the BGMEA Directors highlighted the immense potential for expanding Celio’s sourcing footprint in Bangladesh, particularly in the production of high-value, and innovative apparel items.

They emphasized the industry’s ongoing transformation toward sustainability and circularity, and the opportunities for French brands like Celio to collaborate in achieving shared environmental and business goals.

Celio, which currently sources 70% of its total products from Bangladesh, expressed interest in increasing its sourcing from the country. It reflects Bangladesh’s growing reputation as a hub for quality apparel manufacturing.

Celio’s top executives, including Marc Grosman, Founder; Sébastien Bismuth, President; David Teboul, COO; David Hermelin, Brand Director; Laurence Levy, Group Corporate Director; Morgan Delemazure, Offer & Buying Director; Petronille Ricard, CSR Director; and Lucie Abt, Country Head, attended the event.
