BGMEA accorded a farewell reception to immediate past Inspector General of Bangladesh Police AKM Shahidul Hoque, BPM, PPM at BGMEA conference room on 1 February.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, First Vice President Moinuddin Ahmed, Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, BMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, BGMEA Directors Md. Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin), Md. Munir Hossain, Md. Atiqul Karim Khan, A.N.M. Saifuddin and K. Mahabub Uddin (Jewel) were present at the program.
High officials of Bangladesh Police, including Director General of Industrial Police Abdus Salam, DIG Dhaka Range Abdullah Al Mamun, and SP of Dhaka Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman were also present at the farewell reception.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman said that Shahidul Hoque during his tenure as IGP has taken a number of initiatives for capacity building and improving services of the police. He also lauded the immediate past IGP for his prudent leadership in fighting terrorism in the country.
In his address AKM Shahidul Hoque said that the RMG industry is an important sector for Bangladesh in terms of its contribution to the country’s socio-economic development. The apparel exported by Bangladesh is worn people around the world, thus the industry helps brighten the image of the country globally, he added.
