The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) officially signed an agreement under the "Training Program for Capacity Building for RMG Workers and Management Staff."
Through this collaborative initiative, BGMEA and EPB reaffirm their shared commitment to enhancing the skills and capabilities of RMG workers and management personnel, contributing to a more productive, competitive, and sustainable industry.
The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Mahmud Hasan Khan, President, BGMEA, and Nafis Ud Doula, Director, BGMEA, along with representatives from the Skills Development Program (SDP) Department, including Ms. Saila Akther Nova, Section In-Charge (SDP). Representing EPB were Mohammad Hasan Arif, Vice Chairman & Chief Executive (Additional Secretary) and Md. Ruhul Amin, Director General-2 (Joint Secretary) & Head of CMC. The signing ceremony was held at EPB office in Dhaka.
BKMEA and BUFT signed separate agreements under the same initiative, demonstrating a collective commitment towards strengthening Bangladesh’s apparel and textile workforce.
Under this three-year initiative, training programs will be conducted across Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram, focusing on enhancing the technical competencies of RMG workers as well as strengthening the capabilities of entry-level and mid-level management personnel. The program encompasses skill development in machine operations, compliance standards, production planning, inventory management, leadership, and workplace efficiency, aligning with the sector’s evolving needs and future demands.
