A delegation from BGMEA met with Julien Deur, Head of the Economic Department at the Embassy of France in Dhaka, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral trade, particularly in ready-made garment exports. 

The BGMEA team included Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman, Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Trade Fair and Events M. Sajedul Karim, and Chairman of the Standing Committee on France Market Development Md. Shofiqul Alam.

The meeting focused on expanding market access, enhancing business linkages, and facilitating trade. Discussions also covered marketplace development and potential green financing initiatives to support sustainability in the RMG sector of Bangladesh.

Both sides highlighted the importance of environmentally responsible production, technological advancement in circularity, strong compliance standards, and structured matchmaking initiatives among manufacturers, brands, buyers, and technology providers.

They also stressed promoting Bangladesh’s RMG sector globally through showcasing progress in sustainability, workplace safety, and responsible manufacturing.
