BGMEA bids farewell to US Ambassador

BGMEA bade farewell to outgoing US Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E. Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman thanked the departing US Ambassador for her constructive role in strengthening the Bangladesh-US relations and extending support for the development of Bangladesh RMG industry.
Terming the US as one of the key export destinations for Bangladesh’s apparel, he further laid emphasis on continued support from the country for the industry.
In her speech US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat said: “Since 2013, with the help of Accord and Alliance, you have dramatically transformed your garment and apparel factories, making them among the safest in the world.” “This was difficult and expensive processes, but it will continue to pay off for years to come,” she added.
BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir and Directors Md. Shahidul Haque Mukul, M.A. Rahim (Feroz), Md. Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin), Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Md. Munir Hossain, Md. Atiqul Karim Khan, Md. Rezwan Selim and Md. Shaif Ullah were also present at the program.
