BGMEA distributes relief among Mirpur slum fire victims

 A BGMEA delegation, led by its president Rubana Huq, on Wednesday distributed relief goods among the victims of the Chalontika slum fire incident in the capital’s Mirpur area.

Among others, Vice President S M Mannan (Kochi), Director Md Shehabudduza Chowdhury and the garment entrepreneurs of the area were present there.


A total of 2100 families were distributed food items including rice, legumes, oil, salt and clothing items including sharee and lungi.

In her speech there, the BGMEA president said, “We are businessmen. We export clothes. Today, we are here to respond to our hearts.” The BGMEA president also told the fire victims to be patient in order to overcome the situation.


S M Mannan Kochi said the apparel traders were beside the people of Mirpur in the past, they are still here and they will be there in the days to come.
