2013 marked the turning point of the RMG industry while the nation came to deal with the Rana plaza collapse as a collective national tragedy. There were huge lessons learnt and thanks to platforms like Accord and Alliance that the industry was able to quickly turn around with remediation.

However, six years on, with so much achieved in the sector, the industry has gained sufficient expertise and strength to implement monitoring. This was of course, a goal that was common amongst all stakeholders.

With a view to establishing monitoring, the industry is close to set up an RMG Sustainability Council. In order to do that, a consultative seminar of stakeholders is being held on the 3rd and the 4th of Sep 2019 in Dhaka.
