Leaders of major business chambers and associations have jointly called for extending Bangladesh’s LDC graduation to 2032, instead of the currently scheduled 2026.
At a press conference titled “LDC Graduation: Challenges Ahead” held yesterday, they emphasized that the extended period would give Bangladesh the necessary time to strengthen its capacity and better prepare for the challenges of the post-LDC era.
Speaking at the event, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan highlighted the possible implications of LDC graduation on Bangladesh’s trade and economy, particularly its impact on the RMG sector.
