The “C3MFT Exhibition”, organized by the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) International in collaboration with SDC Bangladesh, officially opened today in Dhaka. The three-day event brings together renowned innovators and leading global suppliers of dyes, chemicals, and machinery for the textile and apparel sector.
Speaking at the opening ceremony as the chief guest, BGMEA Director Mohammad Sohel highlighted Bangladesh’s significant progress in making its garment industry more environmentally sustainable.
He remarked that BGMEA’s vision is to strengthen the position of Bangladesh’s apparel industry as a safe, eco-friendly, and trustworthy brand. We want the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ label to represent not only quality but also sustainability and environmental responsibility.”
Masud Kabir, Chairman of BGMEA’s Standing Committee on Press, Publication, and Publicity, also addressed the audience, stressing the importance of sustainable practices and effective chemical management. He emphasized that keeping pace with emerging global environmental priorities is essential for Bangladesh’s textile sector. “This is no longer merely a moral responsibility -- it is a strategic necessity to remain competitive in the global market,” Kabir noted.
Prof. Ayub Nabi Khan, Chairman of SDC Bangladesh and Pro Vice-Chancellor of BUFT; and Amer Salim, Director of Knit Asia Ltd. among others were present at the event.
