An orientation and sensitization program was held on 24 December 2016 at BGMEA office to brief the media on the project “Changing gender Norms of Garment Employees” (ChaNGE).
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman attended the program as chief guest.
BGMEA with support of UNFPA and in consultation of the Ministry of Labour and Employment of Bangladesh Government have jointly conducted the ChaNGE project.
Under the project trainings were provided to the employees and workers of 40 garment factories to create a gender conducive work environment through raising awareness on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and gender based violence (SGBV).
BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, and ChaNGE Project Director Mohsin Uddin Ahmed, among others, were present at the program.
