Yesterday (28 September), a coordination meeting titled “Commitment to Worker Nutrition and Hunger Eradication” was held at BGMEA’s Chattogram Regional Office.

Speaking at the meeting, BGMEA Director Enamul Aziz Chowdhury said that ensuring the health and nutrition of garment workers is now the need of the hour. “Workers are the main driving force of our productivity, but they are suffering due to malnutrition and lack of health awareness. Initiatives by organizations like GAIN to address this issue are commendable, as they will have a positive impact not only on worker welfare but also on the country’s economy,” he said.

Chief Guest AHM Shafiquzzaman, Secretary (PRL) of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, stated that if BGMEA works with GAIN to improve worker nutrition, both productivity and the working environment will improve.
