Epyllion Group have won the BGMEA Cup 2019 following a 4-3 win over defending Bando Design by Laila Group in tiebreaker of the final on 1 March.
The final match played at the Army Stadium in Dhaka was goalless before half an hour. In the second half, Epyllion and Bando scored one goal respectively in the estimated times. Later, Epyllion won in the tie breaker.
Honorable Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, MP, presented the trophy to the winning team.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, former BGEA President Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, FBBCI President Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, BGMEA Vice President SM Mannan (Kochi), Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, Vice President Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu) and BGMEA Directors were present at the prize giving ceremony.
Bappi of the champion team Epyllion Group was named the man of the final match and Raju of the same team was awarded the best custodian of the tournament. Mridul of Bando Design became the player of the tournament.
A total of 15 teams competed to clinch the title of the 4th BGMEA Cup Football Tournament.
The participating teams were: Comfit Composite Knit Ltd, Bando Design Ltd, Self-Innovative Fashions, Fortis Group, Apparel Industry, Musk Group, Versatile Apparel, Versatile Fashions, Aspire Garments, Laila Styles, Sterling Group, Ali Garments, Epyllion Group, Tusuka Group, and Torque Fashion.
