The narrative has shifted from doubt to excellence, from fear to trust, from caution to appreciation. In the last six years, the readymade garment industry has evolved in terms of safety, industrial relations and transparency. With export earnings crossing US$34 billion, with new markets beckoning possibilities, with compliance being placed as the highest priority, with sustainability being considered as crucial, today the conversation has gone to the next level where along with all these, issues like value addition and product diversification have seeped in to the ground reality. Challenges around the industry have become multi fold: the sync between wage and skill, new market expansion, efficiency and resource optimisation, innovation requirements, fourth industrial revolution challenges, capacity analysis, and of course, research and design continue being in our utmost priority list.

While we are working to address all these diverse areas, let us remind ourselves that Bangladesh will always have a new tomorrow to offer.
