Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA)  has organized a press conference today on the national budget for 2018-19 fiscal years.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman said that the apparel sector of Bangladesh is already under a number challenges and constantly striving to retain its competitive edge in a market where business dynamics are ever changing.
The government’s policy support is crucial for the apparel industry to remain competitive and also keep its march forward, he said adding that the industry is under intense pressure in the context of increasing production cost and falling apparel prices.
Md. Siddiqur Rahman hoped that BGMEA could resolve some of the budget issues relating to the industry through discussions with the Government.
BGMEA Vice President SM Mannan (Kochi) was also present at the press conference.
