The SICIP-BGMEA “Campus-Based Recruitment 2026” was held on 25 April 2026 at International Standard University (ISU). The program was jointly organized by the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP), Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and the university, with the participation of over a hundred trainees. Private industrial enterprises conducted on-the-spot recruitment during the event.
Majumdar Arifur Rahman, Director of BGMEA, attended the program as the Chief Guest, while Rumana Rashid, Director of BGMEA, presided over the session. The university’s Registrar, Md. Faizullah Kaushik, and Munir Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator of the SICIP-BGMEA Program, were present as Guests of Honour.
Speaking at the event, Majumdar Arifur Rahman emphasized that alongside academic education, skills and practical work experience are essential in today’s industrial sector. He noted that such initiatives would facilitate students’ entry into the workforce.
In her presidential remarks, Rumana Rashid highlighted that skilled human resources are crucial for the country’s economic progress. She stated that employment-oriented training and direct recruitment initiatives would further strengthen the industrial sector.
Special guests included Md. Ashfakur Rahman (Rajib), Coordinator of the SICIP-BGMEA program, and Tarek Aziz, Assistant General Manager—HR, Administration and Compliance of BTP Group. The overall coordination of the program was led by Md. Aminul Haque, CIC Coordinator of SICIP-BGMEA-ISU, A.K.M. Rafiqul Alam, Deputy Director of Finance & Accounts at ISU, and Md. Salman Osman Arannya, Organization Development Manager of Standard Group. The session was moderated by Assistant Coordinator Saeeda Afrin.
The Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP) is implemented under the supervision of BGMEA, with funding from the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Bangladesh and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The program aims to connect trained students directly with the industry and create immediate employment opportunities for qualified candidates. A participating industrial enterprise conducted recruitment activities during the event. Such initiatives also play a significant role in enhancing students’ skills, confidence, and readiness for the professional world.
