A business delegation from Thailand visited BGMEA and held a meeting with its leaders to explore business and investment potential in Bangladesh.
They had discussion on different bilateral trade issues, including textile and garment sectors.
BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan and Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir represented BGMEA at the meeting while Manu Sithiprasasana, Deputy Executive Director, International Institute for Trade and Development led the visiting 16-member Thai delegation. BGMEA Director Md. Munir Hossain was also present.
At the meeting both parties said that Bangladesh and Thailand have ample scope to work together for enhancing trade between the two countries and agreed to extend cooperation in this regard.
The BGMEA leaders gave an overview of the RMG industry of Bangladesh, including its potentials of growth, and urged Thailand to import more apparel from the country. They also called upon the Thai businessmen to invest in Bangladesh, especially in the textile sector.
