We must work together to fight climate change: Moshiul Azam

Moshiul Azam Shajal, one of the Vice Presidents of BGMEA, has stressed the importance of continuing the fight against climate change.

“There are political boundaries amongst countries but the planet earth has no boundary! We must work together to combat Climate Change to save this planet,” said Mr. Moshiul Azam, as a special guest in a workshop on Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM).

The workshop was organized by DoE(Department of Environment), IGES (Institute for GlobalEnvironmental Strategies), Overseas Environmental Cooperation Centre (OECC) andGlobal Environment Centre Foundation (GEC).

Joint Crediting Mechanism is a carbon finance mechanism by Japan Government that facilitates diffusion of leading low carbon technologies, products, systems, services, and infrastructure as well as the implementation of mitigation actions, and contributing to the sustainable development of Bangladesh.

Ms. Habibun Nahar, MP, DeputyMinister, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC) attendedthe event as Chief Guest.

The workshop was chaired by Dr. Nurul Quadir, Addl.Secretary, MoEFCC. Dr. A.K.M Rafique Ahmed, Director General, Department of Environment; Mr. Yuji Ando, President, Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Masatosi Higuchi, Second Secretary, The Embassy of Japan attended the event as special guest.

Mr. Md. Zahangir Alam, Mayor,Gazipur City Corporation attended the event as a guest of honor.
